How to Restore the Shine and Beauty of Dry Remy Hair Extensions?
Posted on March 05 2019
Be it from improper care or hot tools, your luxurious virgin Indian hair extensions are in need of a spa-like treatment to bring their lost shine and great looks back! Know that just like your natural hair, hair extensions also experience damage, color loss, and dryness. So, the best way to maintain their gorgeous shine and perfect shape or restore them to their older glory, is to follow a hair care routine that involves:
Tip #1: Wash with a recommended shampoo
The type of shampoo you’ll use will play a vital role in the condition of your hair extensions. Use specially formulated shampoo for extensions that protect the hair from slipping. It will also help maintain the color and add the vital moisture needed while preparing the hair for the next step of the treatment.
Don’t prefer shampoos with Sulfate, Formaldehyde, Isopropyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol or silicone or your panels with slip. Plus, sulfate damages cuticles and dries the hair out. Also, try not to wash your hair every day because you may strip the hair of the natural oils and make them feel like straw to the touch.
Tip #2: Avoid Hot Tools
Undeniably, curling irons and straighteners do wonders on hair and we all love them to the point beyond belief. But, Virgin Indian Remy Hair and Remy hair in general can experience thermal damage by the frequent use of hot tools. This is unless you take proper precautions and use a protectant that will shied your hair from becoming dry and brittle.
Tip #3: Use a Deep Conditioner
It’s good to deep condition your hair once a week to restore any moisture loss that has occurred due to over styling. Make sure you don’t apply the deep conditioner on the base of the virgin hair extensions, rather than the mid-shaft to ends to prevent slipping.
Also, there are lots of leave-in conditioners that rehabilitate stressed locks, detangle hair, tame frizzy hair, and decrease blow dry time, leaving your hair feeling silky and soft.
Tip #4: Use Oil
Hair oils, such as Argan, Jojoba, and Moroccan oil, have grown in popularity lately and for a good reason. They help keep hair shiny and healthy while also providing an extra moisture boost. Aloe Vera is another great product to use with lots of benefits on the hair and hair extentions.
The current market is overwhelmed by such hair oils but it’s recommended to go for natural ones (Jojoba, Coconut, Almond, etc.) that are not as dry as Moroccan and Argan and add more moisture in. Again, apply from mid-shaft and work your way down.
See how easy it is to get rid of frizzy ends, and revamp your tired hair extensions and look as amazing as when you first left the salon! The most important is to be consistent with your hair care routine and not let cuticles open. Else, the hair breaks, loses its gloss, and tends to tangle.
Just make sure you don’t use chemicals that dry the hair out and hot tools without proper heat protectants, or leave your gorgeous locks without moisture and nutrition. Take good care of them, just like you do with your skin and body and rest assured you’ll get rewarded!
